JR東日本で駅に顔認識カメラを設置して指名手配犯や不審者の割り出しに使うという報道がありました。しかし、不審者の定義が曖昧であるという批判を受けてJR東日本はカメラの設置を取りやめました。
このカメラについてですが、具体的にどこが映像提供しているのかがはっきりしないという問題がありました。
さらに公共の施設を擁しているとはいえ、民間企業が顔という個人情報を運用していいのかという問題もあります。
個人的な話をすれば、現在私は駅の職員によるストーカー行為を受けています。具体的には、職員が無言で後ろを通過する、私が通過するタイミングで彼らが事務所から出てくるといった嫌がらせです。
そうしたことを考慮しても、JR東日本が顔の個人情報を保有することは、恣意的な運用につながると危惧するわけです。
時間が少し余ってしまいました。同時に流れている映像を見る限り、本日はとても静かであることを分かっていただけたと考えます。しかしこのあと夕方からうるさくなります。
