冗談じゃない。
毎週土曜日になると、東京に住んでいた私は見るテレビが決まっていた。TBSの番組である。19時からは「まんが日本昔ばなし」、19時半からは「クイズダービー」、そして20時、つまり8時からは「8時だよ全員集合！」という流れである。
子供にしてみれば楽しい番組であった。シモネタや汚い言葉、わかりやすいギャグ、CMのパロディ。
しかしテレビに夢中になる子供に対して親の目は厳しい。親が子に見せたくない番組ではいつもこの番組がワーストワンの汚名を着せられていた。
だから、冗談じゃない、と言いたい。
志村けんが新型コロナウイルスで亡くなってから、あまりに志村を美化し過ぎるような扱いがあって少々イライラしている。
しかしそれも、あれだけ目の敵にされた志村の時代が、いつの間にか彼をコメディアンとして認める時代へと変わっていったのだろう。我々も変わり、いつの間にか志村は大御所となっていた。志村ではなく、志村けんさん。
このまま時が流れれば100年後、500年後には志村を知る人などいなくなるかもしれない。それは当然である。そのころには新しいコメディアンが時代を築いているに違いないし、それを楽しみにしているお客さんの嗜好も変わっていることになるかもしれないし、それはまことに結構なことである。
だからそういう時代をつくるために我々がやらなければいけないことがある。コロナウイルスに打ち勝つことである。
現時点で国内の医療は逼迫し、医療崩壊の危機が迫っている。コロナ入院患者の対応に追われ、通常の医療業務に支障をきたしているのだ。このままでは医療機関が倒れ、これまで治すことのできた病気や怪我が直せなくなる可能性がある。これが非常に怖い。このままでは世界がコロナウイルスに負けてしまうかもしれない。
この小さい敵をなんとしてでも地球から排除しなくてはならない。コロナウイルスを制することができたとき、次の時代につなげることができるのである。そんな時代への土台を絶対に作らなければいけないのだ。
未来にきっと現れるコメディアンも、過去を学んで知っているはずだ。感染予防の握手の仕方、それは、「最初はグー」であるということを。
